Bike Tour from Crécy-la-Chapelle to Coulommiers

 

 

We start in the artists village of Crécy-la-Chapelle. Crécy attracted renowned artists in the 19th and 20th century who sought inspiration in its lush countryside location and depicted the beauty of its medieval remnants and scenic canals and river.

 

         

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leaving Crécy we enter the rolling hills and pastoral landscapes of the Morin river valley where we'll pass through quaint villages and hamlets.

Coulommiers has the best preserved Knights Templar Commandery in northern France. The Commandery is located just outside of town and requires a steep hill climb to get there. This is an optional visit for those who don't mind the hill climb (exterior visit only).

 

          

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coulommier's Parc des Capucins has the official French heritage designation of Jardin Remarquable (Remarkable Garden) and is reputed to be one of the most beautiful in the Île-de-France region.

• Meeting time and train times: We will meet at the bike rental store at 8:45AM and take a 9:31AM train leaving Paris and arriving in Crécy-la-Chapelle at 10:22AM. We will take a train departing from Coulommiers at 3:36PM and arrive in Paris at 4:42PM.

• Touring Time: 5 hours 15 minutes from train arrival in Crécy-la-Chapelle to train departure from Coulommiers

• Level of Difficulty: Moderate. The topography on this ride is gently rolling to hilly. This is a ride for those who are physically fit, regular bikers that can handle a few hills with ascent times of 5 to 8 minutes. A tour for experienced cyclists.
